(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – Following their first home match at Cambrian College, the Sudbury Cyclones Men’s OPL1 squad kicked off a three-game road trip on Saturday with a matchup against Unionville-Milliken SC.
The Cyclones wasted no time getting on the scoresheet, as Ilija Pavicic recorded his first goal of the season in the 7th minute to give Sudbury an early 1-0 advantage. The visitors maintained their lead for much of the opening half before Unionville-Milliken found the equalizer in the 43rd minute, sending the match into halftime deadlocked at 1-1.
With the game tied entering the second half, both teams focused on maintaining a strong defensive structure while searching for the go-ahead goal. Despite opportunities at both ends of the pitch, neither side was able to break through, and the match finished in a 1-1 draw.
Sudbury will now look ahead to a midweek clash against the Woodbridge Strikers on Wednesday, June 17, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 p.m.The Cyclones will then wrap up their road trip on Saturday, June 20, when they face the Toronto Nitros, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
