(Greater Sudbury, ON) – Awards for the League2 Women’s Northeast 2025 campaign were unveiled for League1 Ontario this week, with Sudbury Cyclones striker Cassidy Brooks earning a haul, including Forward of the Year, along with the Golden Boot and earning All-Star honours.

A clinical finisher up front for the Cyclones this season, Brooks finished the 2025 summer with 12 goals, which included three braces and a hat trick. She led the League2 Women’s Northeast by three goals, beating out Pickering FC L2 Women forward Taylor Fazzari, who tallied nine.

Brooks’ highlight of the season came on July 5th at Cambrian College in a hotly contested match with Simcoe County Rovers FC L2 Women. A 1-0 match in the second half for Simcoe County, Brooks showed her prowess, getting to a loose ball first in the 79th minute to tie the match, and then finishing a tremendous individual effort to beat both a defender and the goalkeeper in the 91st minute to clinch the 2-1 victory for the Cyclones.

The Sudbury Cyclones and the SWSE family would like to congratulate Cassidy Brooks on a fantastic season, along with goalkeeper Noemie Bouchard who was nominated for Goalkeeper of the Year! There couldn’t have been a better group to start an era of Cyclones women’s soccer, and we can’t wait for what 2026 holds!

Cyclones academies are back for the U14-U20 group. With the first training session on Saturday, November 15th from 7-9pm at the Lancer Dome, look forward to 12 weeks of training! Registration is now open through the link HERE.
