(GREATER SUDBURY, ON ) – The Sudbury Cyclones OPL3 Women’s team is set to make its home debut this Saturday, May 2, when they host Rush Canada Academy B at James Jerome Sports Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. as part of an exciting home opening doubleheader for the Cyclones.  

  After opening the season with a 0 -1 record, the Cyclones return home looking to bounce back following a hard-fought contest against Oakville Soccer Club last weekend. Now, with the support of their home crowd behind them, Sudbury will look to secure an important early-season victory.  

  Saturday’s matchup presents a strong test against Rush Canada Academy B, with both clubs eager to make an early statement in league play. The Cyclones will look to defend home turf and showcase the energy and competitiveness that has defined the squad to start the season.  

  The home opener marks the first opportunity for fans to see the women’s side in action at James Jerome Sports Complex this season and promises an exciting afternoon of soccer.  

  Following Saturday’s contest, Sudbury will shift its focus to a road matchup against Simcoe County Rovers FC Women on Wednesday, May 6 at J.C. Massie Field in Barrie.

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury Cyclones are set to play their second match of the 2026 campaign this Sunday, April 26 at 2:30 PM, as they hit the road to take on Scrosoppi FC at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Secondary School. 

The Cyclones are coming off their inaugural OPL1 match, where they were defeated by International FC. Sudbury showed promise in the opening half, with defender Jaden Timmis scoring his first goal of the 2026 season to give the team early momentum. However, the second half proved challenging, as International FC responded with three unanswered goals to secure the win. 

Following Sunday’s matchup, the Cyclones will return home for their highly anticipated home opener on Saturday, May 2 at 7:00 PM. They will face Burlington Soccer Club at the James Jerome Sports Complex in what is expected to be an exciting early-season contest.

The Sudbury Cyclones OPL1 team is set to take on Hamilton United in an exciting Ontario Player League (OPL) Cup matchup this weekend at Ron Joyce Stadium in Hamilton. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

Riding the momentum from last season’s strong performance, the Cyclones are looking to make a statement in league cup play. With a talented roster and growing confidence, the team is eager to showcase their progress against a competitive Hamilton side.

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury Cyclones have announced what their soccer operations staff will look like approaching the 2026 season.

General Manager of the Sudbury Cyclones is now L1 Premier assistant coach Evan Phillips. Evan has been with the Cyclones since the new inception of the franchise and brings experience and expertise to the role. Jessica Grenier returns to the Cyclones, now as Team Manager.

The L1 Premier Cyclones will have the Championship Coach of the Year Giuseppe Politi returning as head coach for his third season. Evan Phillips and Nicholas Walker return as assistant coaches, with Chris Belanger returning as goalkeeper coach.

The L2 Women’s Cyclones see the return of Ross Moynihan as head coach, with assistant coach Cole Giffin returning along with goalkeeper coach Chris Belanger.

The L2 Men’s Cyclones will have Brian Ashton as head coach this season, along with Chris Belanger as goalkeeper coach.

(Greater Sudbury, ON) – With the promotion of the L1 Men’s team to the League1 Premier, along with the return of the L2 Men’s and L2 Women’s squads, the Sudbury Cyclones are excited to host multiple days of trials in the upcoming weeks.

Two trials for both the L1 and L2 Men’s will be hosted on Saturday, November 29^th and Saturday, December 6^th from 7:00pm-9:00pm at the Lancer Dome. Interested players will have access to one of the two dates, with the trials open to all men 2007-born or older.
