Cyclones Look to Build Momentum Following First Victory of the Season

GREATER SUDBURY, ON – The Sudbury Cyclones OPL3 Women’s team will look to build on the momentum of their first victory of the season as they wrap up a stretch of three consecutive road matches this Saturday.

After a challenging start to the campaign, the Cyclones found their form in impressive fashion, earning a commanding 3-0 victory over Richmond Hill.

The breakthrough came late in the opening half when Kiara Lavac opened the scoring in the 41st minute. The Cyclones carried that momentum into the second half, striking quickly as Natasia San Cartier doubled the lead in the 48th minute. Lavac then added her second goal of the match in the 55th minute to put the game out of reach. A disciplined defensive performance helped secure the club’s first clean sheet and first win of the season.

The Cyclones will now turn their attention to Burlington Soccer Club on Saturday, June 6, as they look to close out their three-game road trip on a high note.

Burlington enters the matchup still searching for its first win of the season, presenting the Cyclones with an opportunity to secure back-to-back victories and continue building momentum down the stretch.

Kickoff against Burlington is set for 3:00 p.m.
