Cyclones Eye Cup Progress as Men Host Waterloo, Women Build Momentum

(Greater Sudbury, ON) — It’s a big week for the Sudbury Cyclones as both squads continue their 2026 OPL Cup runs.

The OPL1 men host Waterloo United tomorrow May 5th at 7:00 PM at the James Jerome Sports Complex, coming off a 1–0 road win over Hamilton United in Round One. It’s win-or-go-home as the Cyclones look to push deeper into the knockout tournament.

Fans should arrive early — the first 100 will receive a Cinco de Mayo-themed Cyclones jersey. Expect a high-energy atmosphere.

On the women’s side, the Cyclones opened their Cup campaign with a win over Rush Canada Academy. The OPL3 teamreturns to action May 6 at 7:00 PM at JC Massie Field vs. Simcoe County Rovers FC, aiming to keep that momentum rolling.

The 2026 OPL Cup features 28 men’s and 26 women’s teams in a single-elimination format, with a Canadian Championship berth on the line.
