(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – After securing their first win of the season in the middle of a three-game road stretch, the Cyclones OPL3 Women carried that momentum into their final away match of the stretch on Saturday, taking on Burlington SC.
The match began at a high tempo, with Burlington opening the scoring just six minutes in to take an early 1-0 lead. The Cyclones responded well to the setback, maintaining pressure and growing into the game as the first half progressed. Their persistence paid off in the 39th minute when Kiara Levac netted her third goal of the season to draw the Cyclones level heading into halftime.
The second half featured a tightly contested battle, with both sides limiting clear chances and matching each other defensively. Despite opportunities at both ends, neither team could break the deadlock, resulting in a 1-1 draw.
With this contest concluding a long three games on the road, the Cyclones will look to carry their momentum and enjoy a three-game homestand starting Saturday, June 13th, where they welcome the Woodbridge Strikers with a kickoff set for 3:00 pm.
