Sudbury Cyclones Riding Momentum Into Key Matchup Against Oakville SC

GREATER SUDBURY, ON – The Sudbury Cyclones are beginning to find their form after back-to-back victories in recent Ontario Premier League (OPL) action.

The Cyclones earned an exciting win over the Simcoe County Rovers on May 16, highlighted by two clutch goals from the club’s leading scorer, Jaiden Santo.

The momentum continued in the following match as the team travelled to St. Catharines to take on St. Catharines Roma. After falling behind 1-0 early, the Cyclones responded late in the first half when Santo once again found the back of the net to even the score.

In the second half, substitute Dominic Parris made an immediate impact after replacing Timi Aliu. Parris scored the game-winning goal in the 82nd minute before adding an insurance marker in stoppage time at the 91st minute to seal an impressive road victory for Sudbury.

The Cyclones will look to carry that momentum into a major test this weekend as they face Oakville Soccer Club on Sunday, May 31. Oakville currently sits third overall in the OPL standings with an impressive 4-1-1 record, making this matchup an important challenge for the Cyclones against one of the league’s top clubs.

Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at Bronte Athletic Field in Oakville.
