(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury Cyclones’ men and women are set for a doubleheader of soccer action at Cambrian College this Saturday evening. The Cyclones women will take to the pitch Saturday, July 5th at 4:00 p.m. to face the Simcoe County Rovers FC L2 Women. Following this match, the Cyclones men storm the pitch for a 7:00 p.m. meeting with North Mississauga SC.

The Cyclones women are coming off their biggest win of the season, an 8-0 demolition of Unionville Milliken SC L2 women. Cassidy Brooks and Kiara Levac both notched hat-tricks, meanwhile Brooke Dugas and Charlie Frew rounded out the eight-goal effort. Brooks now sits four goals ahead of the next player for first in the golden boot race, with nine on the campaign. With that win, the Cyclones women improve to 4-6-0 and face a Simcoe County side entering the contest with a 5-3-2 record.

The Cyclones men continue to string results together, earning a pesky 0-0 draw away in Scarborough against The Borough FC. The draw against the second-place squad in the Championship now sees the Cyclones four points atop the table, and six points clear of third place York United Academy. With a 7-1-4 record, they’ll square off with a North Mississauga SC squad that is 4-5-3. The two squads previously met on May 30th at Mississauga, where Timi Aliu scored in the second half, contributing to a 1-1 draw.

The Cyclones L2 men are coming off a crazy affair against Pickering FC L2, where in a 11-goal match, the home side ultimately fell 7-4. Four different goalscorers appeared for the Cyclones, including Maliq Olanrewaju, Sam Howard, Caelan Walraven, and Blake Rosener. At 2-6-1, the Cyclones L2 men move on to Sunday, July 6th at 2:00 p.m. where they’ll play The Borough FC L2 at Laurentian.
