(Greater Sudbury, ON) – The Sudbury Cyclones’ men have finished their 2025 League1 Championship campaign, earning promotion to the League1 Premier with a second place finish.
The Cyclones used both James Jerome and Cambrian as a fortress, earning a record of seven wins, four draws and zero losses at home this season. Overall on the season, the Cyclones finished with a record of 12 wins, seven draws, and three losses, the Cyclones earned 43 points, good for second in the Championship and only falling short of champions Unionville on tiebreaker.
The Cyclones were led in scoring by the well-known duo of Timi Aliu and Jaiden Santo, who both netted eight goals this season. Contributing with three was Nico Patenaude, and all of Caelan Walraven, Cedric Devos, and Joshua Vivero scored twice on the campaign. The Cyclones defence proved to be the backbone of the squad, as they earned eight clean sheets throughout the season.
The Cyclones’ men now move on to a 2026 campaign in the League1 Premier, the highest level of soccer in Ontario. To celebrate, the Sudbury Cyclones are hosting a promotion gathering at M.I.C. this Tuesday, August 26th at 7:00 p.m. in commemoration of a successful Cyclones season. Fans are encouraged to come out, enjoy some food and drink and reminisce on the great memories!
