OPL1 Men’s Cyclones Set for Home Matchup Against Simcoe County Rovers

(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) – The OPL1 Men’s Cyclones are searching for their first win of the season as they prepare to host the Simcoe County Rovers on Saturday, May 16, with kickoff set for 7:00 P.M. at James Jerome Turf.

The Cyclones have faced a difficult start to the 2026 campaign, dropping their opening four matches of the season. Sudbury will look to snap its losing streak this weekend in what promises to be an important matchup for both clubs, as the Simcoe County Rovers are also searching for their first victory of the year.

Goals have been hard to come by for the Cyclones early in the season, with the club finding the back of the net just twice through their opening four matches. Jaden Timmis scored the team’s first goal of the season in a 4-1 loss to International FC, while Jaiden Santo added the club’s second goal from the penalty spot in a narrow 2-1 defeat against Scrosoppi FC.

Despite the slow start, the Cyclones remain focused on turning their season around and will look to use home-field advantage to build momentum heading into the remainder of the campaign.

Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Cyclones as they continue their pursuit of their first win of the season.
